Public Art
Gorgie Collective members are passionate about creative placemaking and making art easily accessible to people in our community. Over the last few years, we have been installing on permanent and pop-up public artworks in Gorgie-Dalry. These include our collaborative ceramic sculpture at the entrance to Wheatfield Community Backgreen installed in 2018, a street art takeover to promote St Martin's annual art exhibition in the summer of 2019 and the Harlequin Fence, a ceramic installation and chalk art pop up in White Park on Gorgie Road created in the summer of 2020.
In June 2021, Gorgie Collective launched Edinburgh’s first ever sculptural street art trail and you find more info about the Gorgie Street Art Sculpture Trail including all the artworks and artists on these pages.
We are currently working on expanding the trail and bringing more public and street artworks to our local area of Gorgie-Dalry. We are always happy to hear from local artists who have or are interested in developing a community-engaged or public art practice.
